STUD TERMS 2008

Our aim at the GREENVALE STUD is to breed top class performance stock. Mares with poor conformation or known hereditary diseases may not be accepted. We reserve the right to refuse any mare arriving in poor condition or deemed unfit for breeding.

SWABS. All mares without foal at foot must have a veterinary certificate stating that the mare has been swab-tested and is free from CEM and is fit for breeding, prior to arrival at the stud, or alternatively this can be arranged at the Stud, but declaration of a clear result is essential before covering will take place.

MARES. All mares are to be halter-broken or charges will be made for appropriate training. Whilst at this Stud they will receive every possible care, attention and supervision, but no responsibility or liability can be taken for any accident, damage, injury, illness, disease or loss to any horse or person. The GREENVALE STUD reserves the right to consult a veterinary surgeon in the event of an emergency at the owners expense without notification to the owner. All mares are served at their owners risk and no responsibility can be accepted for injury, damage or loss caused through trying or serving any mare, any problem mares will be twitched or sedated.

KEEP OF MARES. Visiting mares will have the benefit of pasture available and may be stabled, if required. The Stud has the right to feed or stable any horse as they consider most beneficial to the care of the horse and / or foal and the owners will be charged accordingly.

SHOES. All mares are to have been recently attended by the Farrier and to have any hind shoes removed.

WORMING. All mares must be wormed 1 week before arrival at the Stud. They will then be wormed by the Stud every 8 weeks hereafter. Owners will be charged at cost.

STUD FEES are due at time of service, but may be paid together with keep fees on collection of mare or on a monthly basis. Visiting mares and / or foals may not be removed until all fees have been paid. In the event of the stud giving notice for removal of any horse and that horse is not removed, or fees are not paid, then the Stud shall be entitled to sell the horse/s and out of the proceeds of sale defray the costs of the fees and for the period between the giving of notice and the sale, and the owner hereby appoints the Stud its agents for the purpose of the sale.
