GREENVALE STUD FACILITIES AND LIVERY YARD AT TY LLWYD STABLES Here at the Greenvale Stud, Ty Llwyd Stables we have run a very successful Livery yard since 1998. We are located just off the A48 just 2 miles from Crosshands and 9 miles from Carmarthen, in a lovely ever growing village called Foelgastell. The yard is run on a day to day basis by Colin Jones with Marnie Venables (proprietor), Equine science HNC graduate over seeing all. Both have over 20 years experience working with horses. The stud
owns 110 acres of quality land. All fields have post and rail fencing or hedge boundaries and most have lovely natural wooded areas to provide shelter for the horses. The livery horses are stabled and turned out in their own fields, Stud visiting mares also have their own and the Stud Brood mares and Youngsters live out in their own seperate fields too. This minimalises the risk of new horses bringing anything onto the yard and minimalises any fallings out amongst the horses. The yard has at least one staff member here at all times. Stabling is of the highest quality and so are the rest of the facilities. We have a floodlit all weather surface school and a large floodlit round - pen. The yard is kept immaculate at all times and has a very happy atmosphere. |

We run the stables because we love horses! I think this is something that some people who work in the industry forget. We work hard and have fun with our four legged friends as often as we can (see the picture above of us taking out an hour to give our horses an open out! down the fields). We offer DIY or Full Livery see PRICE LISTS. All the liveries get on with each other very well and often help each other out if one goes on holiday etc. We are always here to help too. We often ride out together and help each other out with training of both horse and Rider. In the summer we have a field designated for jumping and we leave a course up down there for ourselves and the liveries to use. Lessons are available and every month we have in one of the country's best all round trainers to teach, David Moul. He is a BHSII and vastly experienced. He has Show Jumped at Grand Prix level on self trained horses. He trained with Yogi Breisner and trained the students at the Naval Riding Centre, taught at Spa shot. He also worked for John Lassiter and the Duchess of Goodwood. He has most recently trained Kayley Webster who was on the Junior Euroepan Jumping team. We are absolutely delighted and honoured to have him come here and are feeling the benefits of his fantastic training ourselves. One of his lessons is pictured below, over our course down the field. Jeanette (an ex employee) has just started competing Eventing on her home bred mare. David has helped her greatly already and indeed myself, who has just started competing again after not doing so for nearly 5 years. Anyone interested in joining us here for some training, should just call the stud.
We are a well respected stables and are also vastly experienced in breaking in and schooling on youngsters and problem horses. This is done with modern and horse friendly techniques and we have many success stories that we have either bred, trained or sold on, see our STUD NEWS for some of these. We do a lot of ground work with our horses before they are ready to break and we bring them all on at the speed that they can cope with and are happy with - this patience pays off ten fold when it comes to competing. Below is pictured Corravale loose jumping as a 3 year old and Marnie warming her mare up for a day off from yard and office duties to enjoy some Show jumping at a recent show.
