EST 1998: GREENVALE STUD & TY LLWYD STABLES LIVERY YARD
Located between Crosshands & Carmarthen, it was established in 1998 by me, Marnie Venables. After finding the ideal premises and achieving a HNC in Equine Science (amongst various other Equine / BHS / NVQ qualifications) I set to work to attain my dreams of producing quality, British bred horses, that combined good conformation & talent from proven pedigrees with trainability & obliging temperaments.
The stud itself owns 110 acres of quality land. As it is situated geographically “In a bowl” it also benefits from little wind and very little freezing during the winter months. All fields and wooded areas used for grazing are stream-fed and are well-fenced or hedged. As you would expect all the horses here are cared for with 5 star treatment and are under 24-hour supervision. Stabling is of the highest quality and so are the rest of the facilities: A floodlit all weather surface school and a large floodlit round – pen. The yard is kept immaculate at all times and has a very happy down to earth atmosphere. Livery vacancies occasionally available.
Greenvale Stud all started with the Welsh Cob stallion Yorkin Napoleon, since sold on to Yorkshire and the (Cardigan bred) Thoroughbred stallion, Time Willing. He was a very lucky find for me in 2000, as his parentage includes two of the Racing greats, The Brianstan and Teenoso (Twice Derby winner). He has proved to be a wonderful stock stamper, and is the most perfect gentleman, sadly deceased in August 2010. He was the most adorable horse & is very greatly missed. Luckily his temperament & talent was passed onto all his youngstock who are out there doing superbly & flying the flag for their sire.
